_{THE GIST:

Myself and any other artists who want to help will be making adoptables, commissions, or any sort of art for money, which we will donate the proceeds from to one of two charities in this event. Anyone can get involved, so please consider helping out in one of the ways we have listed below.

HOW TO HELP:

1. Selling the work
This is where you do what you do best- make art. Do adoptables, commissions, whatever you would usually do, and sell it. I would ask that you donate, at minimum, 50% of the proceeds to the charity of your choosing. Feel free to stock up on designs and start planning before the event starts.
If you sell things for points, and you don't have a PayPal (both of the charities take PayPal) you can talk to me, I'll have you send the points to me, and I'll donate the 100% USD equivalent of the points to the charity you wanted it to go to.

2. Buying the work
Obviously, this won't work if we don't have buyers. I encourage you to commission, adopt, and partake in the work of the artists included in this event so that we can collect a decent amount of money to be donated. Of course, you don't need to buy if you don't want to, but we need buyers AND sellers for anything to happen.

3. Advertising the event
This is the part that ANYONE can do, regardless of their art or their money. We need you to spread the word so that we can get as many people involved as possible! Tell your friends about it, feature it on your page, make a journal about it, ask others to feature it. Please don't spam the profiles of others asking them to join, however. If you are to ask other adopt makers / commissioners to help with the event, it would be best to send them a private note.

THE CHARITIES:

Finally, the charities that we're collecting money for! You can donate to either or both of these places, that is entirely up to you, and what you want to do with your money.

1. water.org [donate with PayPal here]
It's pretty self-explanatory that this charity is about water. Donating to water.org will help give people a clean, sustainable source of water that is owned not by one person, but by the community as a whole, and giving them a means to keep it there hopefully 10, 20, 40 years later.

It specifies how much you can give to set someone up with clean water for life, however, you can donate any amount you like, not just increments of 25. I would recommend, if you would prefer to donate to kiva, that you send the leftover amount over here, so that it gets used!

Kiva is a lot more like free charity than it is straight-up charity- it essentially allows you to play the part of a bank. It allows entrepreneurs in the developing world access to the same safe, inexpensive banking that most of us get, and honestly take for granted. It allows you to pick out a person, or group of people, see what they need the money for, and loan it to them. You will almost certainly be paid back, and you help people to expand their businesses. So yeah- free charity.

Unfortunately you can't just loan any amount, as it appears that the least you can donate is $25, so keep that in mind before you make a loan!
ON THE UP SIDE! If I invite you to join kiva, you will be given a free $25 loan to whoever you choose to loan it to. Seriously, you get to make a loan, except not pay for it. If you want me to invite you, just note me your email, or comment with it down here, in the comments section!

THE DURATION:

This event will last for 10 days, from May 10th - May 20th. This way you have time to get your work ready and think about which charity you want to donate to, or if you'll have enough to simply donate to both.
